Finally home after 2 long days of walking involved in Penang with Tian. To walk around on your feet is always something fun to do cos you will discover things you didnt realise when you´re on the car. But the hot weather somehow seems to discourage all the walking motivation. I have sunburn now. Bleh. Pain! Q__Q
The map didnt help much in getting our way around. We end up getting lost anyway. Haha. Getting lost in Georgetown is always interesting as you walk around the lanes randomly and bump into food stalls. =P
Freshly baked eggtarts! Chocolate cake! Peanut dumpling! I love buying food from shops that doesnt have signboards aka foodstalls. To see how the old uncle and aunty concentrates making them, it shows that they baked them with love. =)
And it did taste good. Jalan Melayu is the street you can get these yummies.
Our destination was Padang Kota Lama so the walking began with help from the locals for direction. Haha. View from along the walk at Dewan Sri Pinang:
After a long walk about 30 minutes (we were warned told that its gonna be a LONG walk), we reached Fort Cornwallis. Yay!
Look look, the place where they keep the belerang. Bang! Boom! *grin*
And Tian who has plans to conquer the world one day with the meriam and he idoled Francis Light apparently. XD
Then it was time to walk blindly back to Georgetown to look for lunch. Lalala. We saw the lighthouse and decided to check it out. The stairs up the tower was quite scary, I felt like I could drop anytime. Tian was pretty scared on his way up the tower, he is scared of heights btw. If I felt it was alil scary (I have no fear of heights), what is this to him then? Haiz. I felt bad for telling him to just go up and stop feeling scared cos nothing is gonna happen. Sorry Tian, your jie wasnt sensitive enough. :(
Batu Feringghi was next! It rained for abit when we were at Gurney, luckily we had shelter. Right timing to be in Gurney Plaza le :)
For dinner, we had like 5 different food such as nasi lemak gulai ikan (we bought it from a foodstall and it tasted good :) ), spring rolls, char hor fun, Taiwan sausage (I didnt like it), cuttlefish mit spinach and ais kacang! That night, I ate till I drop. So full!! But satisfying. =)
Going off to Genting in 10minutes. Haha. Have to get ready now.
